Dr. Evan Strahl is the owner and head trainers for Covert Canine.
Dr. Strahl draws from over a decade of training and competition experience in the working dog world. This experience gives him the precision and passion needed to transform your dog from unruly to obedient, frightened to confident, timid to content. The first books Dr. Strahl ever read as an infant were on dogs and his fascination with dogs only heightened since those early days. He began his journey with his first personal dog, Drogo.
Drogo was a German Shepherd whom came from strong working lines. Drogo is the dog in the center in the above picture. It was through training Drogo that much of Dr. Strahl's experience with dogs developed. Drogo was a very unpredictable and aggressive pup from the moment he was picked up from the airport. But, there was an instant deep bond that was formed. It was through the process of shaping Drogo into Dr. Strahl's personal service dog and personal protection demonstration dog that many lessons were learned.
During his time training Drogo, Dr. Strahl was put in contact with West Michigan K9. Dr. Strahl became the protégé of Stephen Parent, owner of West Michigan K9 one of the only companies in the world contracted to breed and train dogs for United States Special Forces.

After his time with West Michigan K9 Dr. Strahl moved to Florida to complete his Doctoral degree. During his time in Florida he trained under a former Army Green Beret Dog Instructor whom was paramount in the creation of the Green Beret Dog Program. He also worked with a variety of other mentors and dogs during this period honing his craft.

When he graduated he moved Seattle Washington where he opened his own facility to start training dogs in the greater Seattle area.
